Happy dachshund?

My girlfriend went for a day at Crufts last weekend.

She bought our little fella Eric some new clothes including this snazzy little number.

I don’t think he was too impressed with his new get up, maybe I should get him some glow sticks and make him the first “New Rave” dachshund?

Top 5 flickr photo feeds

These are the top 5 flickr photo feeds, well the ones I follow anyway.

Dave Gorman

Wiki says,

He is an author, documentary comedian and humourist. He performs comedy shows on stage in which he tells stories of extreme adventures and presents the evidence to the audience in order to prove to them that, unlike in most other stage presentations, they are true stories. He is a former stand-up comedian.

I first heard of Dave Gorman when his TV programme Are you Dave Gorman? was shown on TV. More recently More4 aired his Dave Gorman In America Unchained film as part of their True Stories series.

His films are really funny and revealing. Dave Gorman In America Unchained shows a side to American people that dispelled a lot of myths/stereotypes. I mean can you imagine running out of petrol in the middle of nowhere in the UK, then phoning a garage to come to your rescue with a some petrol and only be charged for the petrol? Or a petrol station owner coming from home on a bank holiday to open up just so you can buy some petrol?

I really like Dave Gorman’s photos they make the ordinary look extra ordinary. A lot of them seem to be in and around london, I think that would be because he lives there. However, there are alot from his travels such as New York and other parts of America.

I particular like his graffiti and http://www.flickr.com/photos/dgbalancesrocks/sets/1336953/ sets.

Visit his website as well at www.davegorman.com

This blokey works for Vimeo and posts his drawing, sketches, ideas and screenshots of his work for them. He also has some nice sets of interesting website interfaces and is useful resources when you’re designing and building new websites.

Factory Joe

Factory Joe is kind of like Soxiam, more screenshots of websites and interfaces. He also has built up sets of user flows, design patterns and interfaces, which is also useful.

Rebekka takes stunning shots of Iceland. Have a look through her photos they are just amazing and beautiful. Iceland looks like another planet sometimes and Rebekka manages to capture it perfectly.

She has had a few problems with people stealing her images and selling them on as their own so her photo sizes are now limited. (Hope you dont mind me taking the screenshot below.)

A few links to her

If you’re a fan of HDR photos take a look at this blokeys work. It’s brilliant. It looks very dark at times as well.

I especially like the “Being Nick Watts” set.
Sunday Breakfast
This reminds me of the Midlake album cover.

There Are "No" Tools Left In This Van Overnight

Saw this van at the traffic lights the other day with a sign on the back saying, “There Are "No" Tools Left In This Van Overnight”.

So there ARE tools left in the van???

Christmas tree, Norman the fourth

Finally finished

Got this bad boy up and decorated on saturday afternoon.

He has about 400 lights and about 30 - 40 bourbells (is that how you spell it).

We also bought some lights for the little tree at the top of our drive which looks pretty good.

Took ages to get everything set up, I’m not looking forward to taking it all down.

Still, I really like it. It’s makes the front room all cozy and nice.

Conditional Statements

Because I always forget how to write them correctly here’s some links:

SXSW Round Up

I’d love to go to the SXSW festival one day. It looks brillaint with the music, film and interactive elements. I was thinking of suggesting it as a “conference” to attend with work. The interactive part of the festival would be work related. However I think the fact it’s held in Texas would mean it would never happen.

I guess I’ll just have to get my own arse over there one day.

In the meantime, I’ve been reading blogs about this years event and Cameron Moll has posted up a nice little round up of the interactive part being held this week.

Go and have a look at Camerons Noteworthy, SXSW edition

I’m really liking the Expression Engine and Michigan State University - College of Law redesigns.

Will Nike make Marty Mcflys trainers from Back to the Future part 2?

Saw this youtube video on adfreak.com and I reckon they would be pretty popular.

If you would like a pair of these to become a reality then I suggest you wander over to the petition and add your name to the list.

I can remember watching this when I was young (and not so young) and thinking that 2015 was years away. Well it was sort of but not it doesnt seem to far away. 8 years to be exact.

I’ll be 36 in 2015 so I might look a bit of an idiot on a hover board and I dont think we’ll have cars running off Mr Fusion but these trainers (or sneakers if your american) might just happen.
Let’s hope so.

Building a website using Wordpress

This site is taking shape but a lot of things wont be working quite right. I’m installing plugins for flickr, last.fm, etc and just getting them to work correctly before I style them or make the code that comes with them semantic.

I’ve just installed a last.fm plugin that displays my most popular albums. The image sizes seem a bit big and dont seem to respond to my tweaking. I think I need to spend more time on this, probably a bit more than the time it took me to eat a ham sandwich and a packet of pretzels.

My brain should be able to cope with it later on after work seen as I’m drinking Sprite 3g this afternoon.

btw. Gillian rang to tell me that my new digital camera has arrived this morning. So I’ll be fiddling with that tonight.

The “All New” David Bloomfield Blog

Just like the “All new” Yogi Bear or “All new” Scooby Doo Show the world now has the “All new” David Bloomfield Blog.

Not sure how long I’ll keep this up but hopefully I be adding some useful links, opinions and stuff to the internet that people may just want to read. I’m a web designer and music whore so expect some content along those lines.

Oh ye, tomorrow I receive my shiney new digital camera a Casio Ex-Z750 which I picked up at the bargin price of £160 plus VAT from ebuyer. I paid a bit extra to get it delivered tomorrow so I think I’ll do some sort of review/write up about it. Nothing flash just my quick opinion on the camera.

I have also bought myself an upgraded Flickr account ie. a “pro” account, so I’ll be able to upload loads more photos and organise them into some sort of order.

As with all the other times I have started a blog I don’t expect it to be updated to often but maybe, just maybe, I might this time.
